About Reconnecting Body and Mind

Thanks to the NL Community Living Fund, The NLSACPC is thrilled to launch the Reconnecting Body and Mind Program. Reconnecting Body and Mind is a free weekly skill-building and healthy living peer support group for people impacted by sexual violence. Sessions may include movement classes, nature walks, art, and nutritious cooking classes. Each week, participants will leave the workshop with a new skill and/or a physical gift that they can take with them.

All sessions will either be held at the NLSACPC office (15 Hallett Crescent) or at other locations throughout St. John’s. We strive to make all our sessions fully accessible, but we recognize that this is not always possible due to budget constraints. However, all locations will be accessible by bus and have parking available. This program is open to individuals of all genders who are over 18 years old, and pre-registration is required. ASL interpretation, travel stipends, and child-minding are also available upon request.

 This is a free interactive workshop featuring group activities and discussions about body image and a product demonstration. Participants will receive a free skincare sample package, courtesy of Indigena Skincare.

Our building is fully accessible, and we are located close to bus routes 16 and 10. ASL interpretation, travel, and childcare stipends are available upon request. Open to individuals of all genders 18+ who have been impacted by sexual violence.

Mindfulness Walk in Bowring Park

Join us for a relaxing morning walk at Bowring Park! Come learn about mindfulness meditation and the practice of taking a mindful walk through group discussions and activities.

We will meet at the Peter Pan statue next to the duck pond, and the walking route is fully accessible. Bowring Park is next to bus route 6. Please ensure you wear the appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear. ASL interpretation, travel stipends, and child minding are available upon request. In the event of poor weather, we will postpone to Wednesday, June 29th, from 10:30am to 12:00pm. We will notify participants via email on Monday, June 27th, if we need to postpone the event.
